Hello again, NBR.
Every now and then (usually, but not always, after the alteration of my Start Menu), Vista will duplicate the "Programs" folder (C:\Users\NinjaNoodles\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs) and all its contents in my Start Menu. When viewing the properties of the folder, it displays the aforementioned path (so it doesn't actually exist, I guess). Restarting the session (either by logging off or shutting down) always fixes the problem.

I've tried deleting this folder with no results. I consider myself lucky, however, after reading horror stories from other individuals suffering from the same problem.
Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone know a solution?
I can't (and won't) reinstall Windows. It should also be noted that this has occurred for quite some time (although I don't know when it started), both before and after the Service Pack 1 upgrade.
Thanks, as always.

Funny, I just for the first time experienced this myself 5 minutes ago. It doesn't bother me that much, certainly not enough to call it a "horror story," but if there is a work around, I'd be interested too.

Nobody else?

try making a new profile lol

I can't get the location of the screenshot. Is it the start menu? I don't have anything like this.
-
Yes, coolguy. It's the Start Menu.
-
I don't have my computer in front of my, but the issue is the user start menu and all-users start menu.
If I remember correctly open both locations in side by side explorer windows. Create the Start menu you want in the all-users location. Do this by moving, organizing, and creating the shortcuts you need. Then delete the contents of the user Start menu. If you feel uneasy about deleting the contents of the user start menu just copy them to a folder on your desktop until you decide to delete them.
Just out of curiosity, do you have UAC disabled? -
Yes, deputy963. I do. Does this have something to do with it?
-
Did you follow the instructions above? Did it fix the problem?
The reason I asked about UAC is I think disabling UAC has something to do with the loss of separation of user and all user start menu settings. Either way creating the start menu in all users should fix the problem.
(did for me) -
Happened to me randomly, had to reformat =/
