What is top anti-virus right now for Windows 8?
Do you need something in addition to the Windows one?

Microsoft Security Essentials is all you should ever need antivirus wise. And it won't freeze down Windows. I only subscribe to Norton Internet Security because I get the 3 license pack for $18. But still, MSE will work just fine for free.

Dang there's so many options. I don't plan to web browse on the pc besides downloading a few games. Any suggestions? I'll probably check out the subforum too. Thanks

MSE or AVG free. Just don't click on silly links or open unfamiliar emails.

Just so you know, windows 8 comes preinstalled with windows defender (antivirus protection) by default. So if your going to install a third party solution make sure you disable/remove it if you do. I use windows defender and its been fine for me.
