I am trying to see if anyone has used the AVK 2007 version and if they have had any problems with conflicts? I tried Nod32 it missed some things that KAV caught but KAV had too many conflicts. I use BitDefender now and it is decent. After KAV caught a trojan in my e-mail that had been there for a very long time I am starting to be concerned there may be a better AV. I tried nod32 it found something that was an installer for my Nero. I also would have liked it to have found the item KAV found. KAV I liked right until it crashed my system. My last attempt was with AVK by G data. It ran fine with a 2006 version and no updates. But if I have to buy it to see if it is really a good scanner is it worth that? I have read it is very good. Any and all help is appreciated.

Pfft AV's
A lot of times you get false positives. I've tried Avast recently, it works OK and only occasionally bugged out when scanning archived emails. Turn off the scary "WARNING: POSSIBLE INFECTION DETECTED" soundbyte though, I had my speakers way up from playing CS:S and it scared the crap outta me. Turns out it was a zip file I sent myself for a class.
Actually, if you know a bit about viruses and how they propagate, you can easily do without an AV and all the problems that come with them. If you plan on testing some suspicious software, always do so in a virtual environment---download MS VPC2007 and run it on a guest OS. -
I actually wish I knew more about viruses but I do not. I have been having some problems with my computer and when I scanned with a new definition set from BitDefender it caught an old virus. One I thought had been done away with long ago. So I got a new laptop and decided I would try some different AV. I had luck with KAV it found another e-mail that had always been suspicious killed it but then KAV had a lot of conflicts. I have heard the free ones are good I have no problem with free but at this time I need a cleanup of old items and thought maybe since AVK tested as good or better than KAV it might do the trick. The big problem with them is they do not respond to e-mails. They have been around a while but mainly in Europe. I wish they still had BD and KAV scanners but they do not. I am also not talented enough to use one AV then uninstall then install another and scan with a new scanner. So I thought AVK might do that for me. It seemed a novel idea.
Antivirus question.
