I just stumbled on this picture and I thought it would be awesome if there was a program like this for Windows Vista. Is there?

I thought Sidebar could do that. You can pull things out of it.

Sidebar has something similar. It enlarges a little bit and displays some more info.

Yup, the calendar there is Rainlender. It's an awesome little program. You can set it to stay on the desktop so when you alt-tab to the desktop, Rainlender will be there for you

Can someone please explain to me how to use Rainlender? Does it work with Vista x64?
-
According to their forums, it works in x64 (I haven't personally tried it) although there is no specific 64-bit version.
As far as using it... just install it and a calendar, to do list, and event list will pop up. From there you can double click on the event or to do list to add things with descriptions, tags, etc. It's pretty intuitive. You should have no problem figuring it out

Thank you very much. I'll look into it.

You're welcome.

By the way, what forum were you talking about in your original response? I would like to peruse it a bit. Would you mind sending me a link? I would appreciate that.

Sure: http://www.rainlendar.net/cms/index.php?option=com_fireboard&Itemid=36
EDIT: Here is the thread that mentioned 64-bit compatibility. -
