I'm a little paranoid and I'm trying to back up my custom library, however, I can't physically find it!
When I open it from Eagle Control Panel it says it's located at
C:\Program Files\EAGLE-5.6.0\lbr
Eagle has no problem seeing and opening it but with the explorer its a whole different story. I searched everywhere and it's simply not there(I even have hidden files set to visible). Windows search cannot find it either. How do I back it up?
EDIT: I was able to save a copy on another directory so now I have my backup. But still, why cant windows explorer find the original copy??

It would be a lot easier if you'd attach screenshots showing how Eagle "sees" it and Explorer doesn't.

Vista has a feature that "virtualizes" the ProgramFiles folders, first to protect the executable directories and also so that every user on a machine gets their own copy of files written to a Program Files directory by any application. This means that if two folks use the same machine and save a partially played game, as an example, they each have their own unique saved game.
Most likely this is what is happening with your software. Vista is redirecting the application to look in your personal virtual directory for C:\Program Files\EAGLE-5.6.0\lbr. The application thinks it is at that spot but, in reality, it is in:
C:\Users\your name here\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\EAGLE-5.6.0\lbr

There's even more files that seem to be part of the library that I wasn't aware off. Backing it up now

Oh yeah; something else new about _Vista that I keep forgetting about.

I really like this feature a lot. It allows any application to continue to think it is reading and writing directly to the C:\Program Files directories while maintaining protection of the executables and separate versions of settings and files for each user on a shared machine.

Any Eagle PCB software users here?
