Any Firefox add-on that can move "URL-preview" in status bar to a different location?

One thing I love about Chrome is the frameless bottom edge of the program, as Chrome can do away with the usual Status bar by displaying the status information in a monochromatic overlay within the page. In Firefox, there is a Status Bar, also present. It can be removed, but then the useful URL-preview info is also removed.

Is there any add-on for Firefox that can relocate that URL-preview info that appears in the Status Bar when you hover over links in a page to a different location?

    Thank you.

I know of several add-ons that can do what you'd like:

Hide GUI Bars ( https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/57805) can hide various GUI bars (duh), including the status bar. It also has a statusbar replacer very similar to Chrome's: it occupies the bottom left corner of the screen and only appears when there's a relevant message to display.

Another option is for the URL-preview to appear in the address bar when you mouse-over a link. For that, there's Fission ( https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1951/), which also turns the address bar into a progress bar, like Safari's.

A third option is displaying the URL preview in a tooltip that appears when you mouse-over a link. Tooltip Plus ( https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/11481) can be used, and probably other tooltip-related add-ons as well.

Wow! Absolutely brilliant. Thank you so much, evilmartian. I went with Fission and bookmarked the other two in case Fission stops being developed one day. Seems like a minor thing, but the absence of the status bar makes the UI so much more attractive (and frees up more screen real estate), especially in OSX where windows are always frameless on the sides; the absence of the status bar just completes it. Thank you!
