The stock Windows 10 email client is borderline garbage. The Windows 8 email client is far superior to what MS has now included in Windows 10.
What's wrong with the Windows 10 email client?
1) Send and receive might not work after an update. Confirmed by MS on their Technet site.
2) Email notifications are non-existent either via Live Tiles or Notification Center
3) The cutesy MS way of switching via email addresses is to click on the "People Icon" on the left pane. Big problem with that because with Windows 8.1 Email client you could see your new emails for each email address. I have roughly 10 various email addresses. So with this MS solution I have to click on each email address to see if I have anything new. And since you'll get NO notification of incoming email you'll have to manually check for new arrivals. At least with the initial introduction of Windows 10 the email client was pushing new arrivals thru the notification center.
That has stopped working since new updates and because MS doesn't give you details while downloading their crap it's a guessing game what you're accepting.
.....Windows 10 the gift that keeps on giving !

When I was running the upgrade I was using Windows Live mail as I do in W7.

Thunderbird is an excellent email program and it is free. It will give notification of new emails.

Thunderbird i've used in a Linux environment but it has support from Mozilla till 2019 and there hasn't been any support on the Windows side in a couple of years, IIRC.
I may try MS Live Mail.
Edit: Meant to say Canonical, not MozillaLast edited: Sep 16, 2015 -

Not true. I just got an update several days ago.Last edited: Sep 18, 2015 -
Yeah Thunderbird is actively developed... I won't use any other email client, especially with the Enigmail plug in for easy PGP when it's needed.

Thanks for the updates re: Thunderbird. It's something I read on a Tech site about development only for Linux.
