    I am going to be going from 1 GB of RAM to 2 GB of RAM in my lappy. I was wondering if there are any benchmarking type programs that would allow me to see the increase in performance. Thanks!

    PCMark has a memory performance test. You might give that a try.

    EVEREST also has a RAM throughput benchmarking utility built in.
