I'm trying to figure out how to hide the third column completely when using four columns in facebook.
The goal is to find a layout that fits half the width of a 1920 wide screen.
I've tried IE, Fx, Opera 12 and Chrome combined with loads of extensions, but all they do is leave the third column empty.
I have yet to see an extension that puts column 4 next to column 2.
MS's own app doesn't have this column, but instead everything is freakishly big on a 24", I guess it was probably made for tablets.
Here's a random facebook page to show which column I'm talking about:

Not that I've found. Believe me I've checked. Its on the Facebook side. The Windows Phone, Android, and iOS Facebook apps don't use that ad column due to screen space constraints.

Nice to see that I'm not the only one wanting this!
I guess I have to make my own extension (haha), or ask the FB developers at MS to add a touch friendly/desktop display toggle switch... right. -
thats their advert column so they wont let you remove that.
only way to sort of hide it is to open the link for show ticker on the top right.
oh hang on, that an old version of FB, the new version has a totally different layout. -
It's been like that for years, and I never got the impression that FB is trying to stop that from happening.
It may be lack of interest from the users, when I searched for a pic to use in the OP I saw that most pics didn't include the fourth column anyway.
Any browser extension that that hides the 3rd column in FB?
