    Hey everyone,
I spent a great amount of time researching but all I can find are expensive commercial softwares. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the quick replies. So is audacity capable of recording from the sound card? I wasn't very specific in my original post, but I would like to be able to capture audio from Internet radio, TVs, etc.

Yes it is, you just have to set it up in the options I think. Haven't used it for a long time, but I'm sure it can ;)

    Hey,
Can you tell you me how to do that? I can't find the option that let me record from the sound card.

You could use Windows Movie Maker. It's free, and best of all, it's already installed on your computer :O

Just click Tools > Narrate Timeline.

It will not record from the sound card, but you can use a 1/8 to 1/8 cable that goes from the headphone jack to the microphone jack. Note that some sound cards don't allow this method. Also, you will not get stereo sound out of this.

If you're using Vista, chances are you don't have the 'Stereo Mix' or 'What You Hear' recording options. If you don't consider $20 expensive, you can get Total Recorder basic for that.
