    Windows has started up:
    Boot Duration : 98185ms
    IsDegradation : false
    Incident Time (UTC) : 30/09/2008 2:59:55 PM

from Event Viewer report, I have a report for simliar problem everytime I boot up.
It's reported as an error, with an event ID of 100.

&Also after booting into windows, _sometimes_ the system hangs for 5 minutes, it's still processing stuff etc, like theres a big piece of code eating up the processor resources or an loop-kinda hang.

    Processor T9300
    Super Talent MX SSD
    Vista Ultimate x64

i think those are the major things for consideration. on the problem...

    Thanks

Are there any error codes that come along with that, and when you open up the event log item, is there a clickable link that will take you to a Microsoft webpage that contains a little more information on the error? If so, what does it say?

Ok, that one's obviously too nebulous to be of any real help. Are there any other events in the event log, e.g., information entries, that were made at, or just after, bootup that might indicate what the source of the problem is?

Also, Microsoft has two knowledgebase articles that cover diagnosing startup and performance issues in _Vista in general that might be helpful (then again, they might not):
There's also a three-post thread on the MS TechNet forum that describes what sounds like exactly the same problem; perhaps the suggestion in the third post, albeit somewhat vague, might also help.

Basically, from what I can gather, something is taking an ungodly amount of time to get its act together and finish doing what it's supposed to be doing, for example, perhaps a corrupted, or badly installed, driver. Also, if you're booting up when connected to a network, if _Vista is having problems identifying the network, or connecting with any other system on the network (e.g., for a networked share), that might be causing the slow-down as well.
