    Any way to enable AHCI in a Windows XP install?

    After almost a whole day formatting, installing drivers, programs and importing settings I just "found out" that enabling AHCI in a windows xp installation that was done with it out seems to be impossible...

    I cant really see myself going tru all this again, but the thing is that the hdd is already slow as it is, let alone now with this handicap.

    So the million dollar question is:
    - Is there a way to enable AHCI in a existing Windows XP install without formating?

    Thanks allot in advance...this is really driving me mad :mad:

    I'm not aware of any way to change it after installing XP. If you change the BIOS setting after installing XP, XP won't boot.

    Nope - I think you just have to make sure the system is configured how you want it prior to installing XP.
