    Hi,
I had purchased my dell inspiron 6400 at the start of april. The problem that i have is my pc has some Spyware, adware, malware, etc... I tried to get rid of them in all possible ways but they dont go. Main bugging things are ie and firefox popups of winantivirus2006 and 2007. And i have also noticed a significant decrease in the boot up of my pc till the desktop with anything ready to be started.

Is there anyway to get rid of this stuff?i am ready to reinstall xp, but i dont have a installation cd of xp and the inspiron comes loaded with xp.

    Please help
    Thank you.

. go thru ur startup processes and service to remove/disable what u do not need (cCleaner is a good tool to use and free)
    . do a virus/&adware scan

    u can either:
. contact dell for a CD - might have to pay postage
. borrow a friend's cd and use ur licence that comes with ur machine for activation

    cheers ...

. it would be good that u choose reformat for a clean installation
. ur licence is for Home Edition, unless u r prepared to pay for upgrade, the xp pro installation will not take the code during activation

    cheers ...
