As per topic. I don't want to have to highlight the volume control icon for 2 seconds for it to tell me if my volume is at 100%...

Is there a mod that gives me an icon in system tray that just shows volume %?

Would be a nice feature if it showed the percentages on the sound icon on the sound system icon.

If you have room for a sidebar gadget you could try this one from http://www.thehobbylounge.com/forum/

It's not exactly what you asked for but...

Yea... I'd prefer to have it on my system tray, since I'm currently not using any gadgets.

Went to page 20 of google.. I'm done. Nothing that JUST shows the volume level. It would honestly probably look too similar to the wireless icon.

what i did was, i installed the microsoft keyboard drivers. they install an optional onscreendisplay for volume control. so if you have volume buttons, and adjust the volume with it, you get a nice volume onscreendisplay like on tv's (big green text, and the volume bar). so you quickly notice how loud your system is while adjusting.

i like this very much, never use the tray icon for anything anymore.

maybe that helps? (and yes, this works even when no microsoft keyboard is close.. i have both microsoft keyboards and logitech keyboards, depending on the system. works well everywhere).

i know it's not what you want, but i wanted the same you want now. and now i don't need or care about it thanks to that onscreendisplay.

    maybe it's an inspiration.

Haha, good hussle. And not exactly similar looking, because the volume icon wouldn't have any graphics, just shows the current % of volume in numbers.

My laptop's drivers come with a volume overlay as well. I don't like it though... Maybe I'll try the MS one.

If the volume percentage is less than about 30% there is only one 'wave' coming out of the speaker

Between 30% and 60% there are two 'waves'

Above 60% there are three 'waves'

I know it's not precise but hopefully it's a bit of a help!
