I got a friend who has a certain condition and it`s hard for him to slide the volume bar up and down in the taskbar.
Is there any free program to use, simply by double clicking and setting the volume differently than by sliding the bar?

Click the volume icon once and then use the up/down arrow keys to move the slider. At least in Vista... not sure about XP.

Also most laptops have dedicated volume buttons... with a desktop, you can buy a keyboard with dedicated volume buttons for like $15 or so.

As for other programs... I'm not really sure.

You can also use two buttons on your laptop to control this.
    Hope your problem is solved.
