    Vista with XP/linux?

I'm thinking of dual-booting XP pro with vista, which will hopefully fix some problems that TF2 is having with vista.

BTW, can you install and play games with virtualbox?

What problems do you have in TF2 with Vista? I run TF2 in Vista X64 no problems at all...

If you haven't already, install SP1 on your Vista install. I gained a speed boost for many things, including some games. I don't have TF2 though but it may help.

Don't know about virtualbox as I've never used it but if it runs an OS within an OS I don't see why you can't. But to be sure I'd suggest dual booting with XP, it's what I do. And for example, I recently purchased Race07/GTR Evolution, I tried it in Vista as I didn't have XP installed on my new Asus M70VM and I got choppyness with the latest drivers even on low settings.

I installed it in XP (when I finally got it sorted, after 3 days...) and it runs fine in max settings on native resolution so my advice to those having gaming problems with Vista (usually X86) is to ditch it for XP SP3/SP2.

Also chucking as much RAM at Vista as possible is advisable if you want to game in Vista... :)

Well, occasionally, when I try to load a new map, the game freezes and I have to exit it via ctrl+alt+del. Also, 90% of servers give me a "server not responding" thing.

How do you figure Dual Booting will help any problems you have with Vista?

The server not responding error could be due to heavy internet traffic or a bad connection...

Dual booting wouldnt help with any problems within Vista already, it just allows you to work around the problems in another OS (like Windows XP instead). I've successfully tri-booted Vista x86, XP Pro, and Ubuntu 8.04.

Ask me if you need info on how to do it.

Sorry, I worded that badly. I meant to say to use TF2 in XP, which would work around vista's problems, as KingRaptop was saying.

Actually, info on how to do it would be great. You can PM or reply here.
