Should be noted I use 64 bit Vista.

wow! thats great news!
too bad i haven't try it, and i still use XP. -
LOL, I'm using IE8 right now and it lags more than anything I've ever used in my life!!! Matter of fact, when I type, it takes like, 10 seconds to see the text, I can't type properly!!!! IT uses way more memory thatn any application I have going, it's unbelieveable! When I'm on facebook, I can't even search with the search thingy cause it won't let me type in it!!!! DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS PEICE OF CRAP SOFTWARE!!!!! IT IS SOOO SLOW!!!! AHH I'M GOING TO GO CRAZY CAUSE IT'S SO SLOW!
Haha yeah, it's really slow btw.

etc etc. -
There are quite a few bugs as there always is with a beta release. I like the new features but yes it can be pretty slow at times.
-
. less memory usage comparing to what?
. did not personally see any spikes in memory usage from IE7 to IE8
. but as mentioned in the beta test thread, 2 processes/instances of iexplore.exe r now present when IE8 beta is opened - but still no spike in memory usage
cheers ... -
Maybe its Gamma? -
I dunno. Maybe their designing IE8 on a machine identical to mine. But no real problems here.

says the guy who doesn't know that
a) you don't addition hz on multiple cpus
b) you don't addition memory on SLI/CF
It wasn't that bad either for me. -

WOW, I just tried IE8 on vista 32 bit.
:X 300k memory use, and it takes 5 minutes to write something.
Yeah, this was made for 64 bit. -
IE8 is working perfectly for me using Vista 32bit on my 1GB ram Desktop. No slowness at all. I really can't tell if it's faster or slower, it actually feels the same as IE7. The only differ for me is the slight menu changes. Hold up, I do experience a much quicker load up time(almost instant) when I click on IE8 icon. IE7 was slower to load up, but I still don't see any differ in browsing experience.
I was expecting a bad experience, but not a bad upgrade .......If you can actually call it a upgrade.
BTW ..... I was only getting 11,000k-17,000k -

May be IE8 was designed for AMD Turion
Intel is going to be in love with firefox
(j/k) -
I tried IE8 beta along with Opera 9.5 beta and Firefox 3 beta 4 too. IE 8 crashed for sometimes and takes longer to do something.
MS has to do better than this, if they want to IE to surpass FF or Opera. -
The main thing you gotta remember about this beta is...
Not that it's a beta.
(IT WAS RELEASED EARLY SO THAT WEB DESIGNERS CAN MAKE ACTIVITIES AND WEBSLICES) -
Danasoft sees it as Netscape4

Anyone getting BETTER speed and less memory use in IE8?
