Anyone have a solution for this IE issue?

And, it is having to add .com to every web address or IE just pads it's search engine count.

I checked under the autocomplete settings and nothing looked out of place. Thiis is really my only beef with IE as well as Hotmail. You either have to type .com at the end of every web address or @hotmail.com or the mail server won't accept the user id.

You can press CTRL+Enter after typing a web address, it automatically fills everything before and after the address.

Well maybe that's because there are other extensions besides .com you know ;) And also the same name with a different extension might bring you to a completely different site. Not all companies were fast enough registering their url in all countries

LOL, I was aware of that. ;)

Seriously, this is something that's not required with FF or Opera.

That appears to be the solution. Autocomplete was intentionally removed from IE8, at least as of the beta 1 version, as discussed in this IEBlog entry (the functionality still exists, but can only be enabled for use outside of Internet Explorer). If you're using IE7, the functionality is still there, including for IE, but it's turned off by default.

Is it really that hard to put .com at the end?

You asking me, or rodknee? I don't have a problem with it - heck, I even usually put "www" at the beginning, too! :D
