Well, I sort of like to have my laptop setup so that when I close the lid it goes into standby. However, there are instances where I might have a game like BF2 or something that it isnt a good idea to put into standby running. Well, if I want to close the lid of my lappy to, say, move it somewhere or something this sort of causes a problem. Just wondering if anyone had maybe a work around or knew of a program that could make standby void and null while certain programs are running, it gets annoying having to go into my power properties every time.

Only solution I use is that I manually put it into standby, and closing the lid does nothing by default. But I move my laptop with programs running that I don't want to put into standby fairly often. It's not too hard to just hit Fn+F4 or whatever if you really do want it in standby, is it?

Exactly what pitabred said. I rather use a Shortcut key than have Standby on Auto everytime I close my lid.

Just turn off Auto for good, And press FN + F4, or you can set your POWER BUTTON to Standby when pressed.
