to stop my computer from going to sleep, or hibernation, or turning off or whatever it does after it's idle for a while? Last night I had a large torrent downloading that I needed today, and after I went to sleep, IT went to sleep. So that was up to 8 hours lost on the torrent.

Please, I've already tried power profiles. I've checked the high performance profiles and they say that when I'm plugged in the computer is NEVER supposed to go to sleep, yet it does. Since I'm waiting until tomorrow anyway because of this stupidity, I suppose I wouldn't want it to happen tonight either.

I'm also using Vista Battery Saver; if that has something to do with it, then please tell me.

    Thanks, Kierkes.

Which bittorrent program are you using? There is a function that keeps the computer on when some tasks are still running.

I know in XP you just go to the control panel -> power options -> power schemes to changes your power settings. Give that a shot if you have XP, may work for vista too, not sure.

I've looked into the power management; it doesn't stop the computer from hibernating, and thus stopping the download.
