IE8 was my go to browser when I used MU, but since updating to IE9 I seem pretty much SOL. Every browser I use with a built in DLM seems to get much lower DL speeds than IE8 did.
Has anyone else noticed this?
EDIT: It's also possible I'm imagining it, as MU is pretty unpredictable at times.

It's pretty common for download sites to ID folks who are using download managers and throttle their usage.
Make that very common.
MU is not alone in this.
Why not try disabling your dm for a long while to see if things change? -
I don't think it's possible to disable the DLM in IE9.
I'm talking about DLMs built into the browser, not third party software. -
the download sites don't care. you need to download on their conditions.
if the release of ie9 did not include an option to disable the dm (as many MANY people screamed for on the msdn and technet forums) then that's another reason to NOT use ie9. -
Could you please explain, what is a DLM?
-

DLMs are also notorious for opening multiple d/l streams from a host.
It's that behavior that the d/l hosts really, really hate. -

Are you downloading during peak hours? The DLM in Firefox/IE9 works fine for me.
-
I've tried all different times of the day, it's always slower in Firefox and IE9 than in IE8.
-
How do Opera and Chrome behave with your downloads?
resume/restart capability isn't strictly a DLM capability. -
At the moment I don't have either installed. Oddly enough MU seems to be full speed today, unlike every other time I've used it with IE9.
Weird. Maybe it was just MU wonkiness and not any DLM bias. -
Anyone notice slower download speeds from MegaUpload with browsers with built in DLMs?
