After trying gaming in flip 3d, the thought has occured to me. Vista seems to not have as much memory leakage as Xp, it just runs slower due to having all the extras.
I can game perfectly in a window, while using flip 3d. Using a 3d animated background. Two of them on dual displays. Xp would've died by now.
I realize the whole could be hardware accelerated, but even then, you'd have memory issues. To be able to do everything except use google is interesting.
Of course, if I go and use google while doing this... well...
I'm wondering, would either gaming in classic mode change this?
And does this mean Vista was made for better hardware?

I installed Vista on a old (older) Samsung P35 with an Pentium M 1.5ghz, 1GBDDR and an Ati 9700. Vista could do all the graphic stuff but i felt it was lagging. I turned to to the classic skin and it didnt give me any noticable performance boost. I think since Aero mainly uses the GPU and the rest of Vista the CPU it doesnt change much at all. Now since you are gaming turning of aero might help.
Vista was made and only runs well on better hardware! My mom runs Win XP and office just fine on an Athlon 2200 (1.4Ghz). I cant imagine her runing Vista smoothly even with everything turned down.
I sometimes feel Vista is like a game and you have to tincker with the settings to get good framerates... Sucks. -
Lol I agree with you. Vista is mos def like a video game. I am trying get more framerates so let me tweak this and move that and turn this up and turn that down... that's gotta be the best analogy I have heard about Vista.
Anyone tried Vista in Windows Classic mode?
