Well, I downloaded and tried the grc.com leak test. All appears to be well. I love free stuff!

Always verify the version tested is the same as the version you install. These products tend to vary a bit version to version.

Yeah, I use Comodo too. It's so much better than the Zone Alarm free version.

yup me too! I'm waiting for the 64bit version too so I may have to wait a little longer :( I used to use Comodo on XP and I couldn't fault it at all. It's a great program for free.

The version 3.0 will support vista, and 64bit. In case you want to know where i got the info from, i got it from the release schedule on their site forums.

nice one thanks for the info! I have to say it's been a few months since I last checked. Tho I did sign up to their email notification for when a 64bit vista compatible version is released but hadn't received anything from them yet!

*edit just realised the email was for notification for when the free version supports vista 64bit.. I'll have to check their website again..

I have used CF for about a year in the past and I must say, it is the best firewall that I have ever used (apart from ZoneAlarm and Sygate). It's basically commercial-quality software for free. I would definitely recommend it.

Comodo free is free, and so is comodo pro...i'd go with comodo pro if i were you. Though i don't know if there really is a difference. Which non-free one are you talking about?

Comodo's firewall and BOClean are great apps and I recommend both of them.

They are solid and protect well. No-non-sense and relatively light weight.

You've done the second one, and i don't really know what they mean by pre-registering because it means exactly the same thing.

Anyway v3 hasn't come out yet, but there a release schedule on their website.

It should come out in as soon as a few weeks, and the latest by the end of the year like FF3. Heh, kinda funny how they're both v3.

I love comodo. It seems to use less resources then Zone Alarm. It has a better interface too, imo

I'll tell you what. I just noticed something different about the release date thread. It states v3 is being released some time in November.

I find it a little over-restrictive even after defining exceptions. I suppose your safe though but sometimes annoying.

I'm sticking with the default vista firewall for now. It'll come out in November so it's not a long wait.

I'm running PC Tools FireWall Plus V2 because it allows for blocking outgoing connections without herculean efforts.
