I dunno why, but I'm currently downloading Windows Vista Beta Build 5342 from Bittorrent right now and even though I keep bashing the OS as just being XP 1.5, I'm just curious to try it out.

But now I'm having second thoughts and thinking about cancelling the download
because I need to have my notebook functional all the time as its my only computer right now and I wouldn't want to screw it up by doing something drastic like changing its OS, ESPECIALLY to a beta one.
I'd be worried that some hardware and software wouldn't work and I'd have to download drivers but then I couldn't use the internet because the ethernet and wireless card drivers don't work and I have no way of downloading them and blah blah blah.
And then I'd have to go through the hassle of formating the hard drive and using my Toshiba restore disc and all that jazz.

So maybe I should not go through with this??

Is anyone using or has used a Vista beta, especially the one I'm downloading? How were your experiences with it and would you recommend using it in place of your stable XP???

I have had a vista beta the first one and it was good - ran well but not much functionality.

Im also downloading the latest build of vista to give it a tryout. Will install it on a partition and see what all the fuss is about.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how did you remove it and go back to XP?
And I'm very curious as to how you got OSX to work on your Vaio, tell me your secret please!! :D :D

You install it to a separate partition while keeping XP installed on another. When you're done you can just delete the partition.

pretty darn easy to install os x on a pc lol, contact me somehow, Ill fill you in...like AIM, MSN or Yahoo?

@ Rahul: I installed it on a partition seperate to the XP partition. When I was done checking Vista out I deleted the partition using partitionmagic within XP and all done.
