Is it possible to use a key from a different language of XP on another language? Suppose I have a copy of an authentic copy of Japanese Windows XP, can I use that key on an English installation? If I can; then what about authenticity?

Well… The way I see it, if I don’t use the Japanese copy, I should have the right to use the key with an equivalent copy of English edition (JP Home key on EN Home or JP Pro key on EN Pro etc..) since I have already paid for a license. If we look at anyother commercial application, language has no direct relation with license. No matter whether its an OS or a end user application, the concept is more or less same, right ? keeping aside minor things like double byte n stuff )

Ok thanks, I will try it and see, hope it will work… wanted to know if it is impossible or not before I format. The license key sticker pasted on the notebook says Windows XP home edition, it has no reference to Japanese edition nor anything written in Japanese, which is why I thought that it might work.
