Hey everyone,
Heres my problem, i hate vista bluetooth because it doesnt do squat, nor does it recognise the services available on the bluetooth device you want to connect to.
(I WANT XP BACK)
But I cant, basically I want to transfer 800 files all in 1 big bulk from my Old Samsung d500 (pictures), which I used to do on my old XP machine (GAH SO EASY) because I could pick individual services from the bluetooth panel in XP.
Can anyone enlighten me on how to do this in vista? Or if there is a really good suite available?
Thanks very much,
Cata

Can't you just put the files on a USB stick, external drive? Or use a cabled or wireless network between the computers for the transfer if you don't have those?
Much faster than BT. -
Agreed, time consuming job, unfortunately its from d500 to laptop, and i dont have the cables required.
I can archive a bluetooth serial port of that helps? -
Try this guide

Once a service (device) is being set up, you can access it like normal folder via explorer.

Nope, no luck, its like that whole control panel isn't even remotely linked to the bluetooth (Toshiba) stack/hw itself.
Strange this :/ -
Just on a side note:
a) Bluetooth is slow and not the best for mass file transfer
b) your problems are possibly partially due to drivers
c) Bluetooth had the uncanny ability to diappear in XP warranting a reformat for me - just shutting down with Bluetooth off...
Personally I'd say Bluetooth is supported much better in Vista.
But large amounts of data are best transferred via USB dive or LAN - if it has to be wireless, dedicates system or Wi-Fi. (slow) -

The Treo uses the same Bluetooth serial port to sync with Palm Desktop. You could ask a Treo forum.
Arrrg Vista Bluetooth!
