Hi, I'm wondering how to assign the "My Music" folder as another folder, like say D:\Music instead of D:\My Music. I have already reassigned My Documents to D:\, but I want to know how to redirect the My Music folder in the start panel to D:\Music instead of D:\My Music

    I'm running XP SP3.

My Music in XP will automatically be set as d:\My Documents\My Music,

It has to be a sub folder of My Documents.

Same goes for the My Pictures Folder.

Question is, why do you need a "my music" folder?

Just do it manually. Point your software at your chosen location and leave the XP folder in peace - it'll work ;)

From what I can tell there is no advantage to havin music in the my music folder.

because that way all new apps and such use the right default path? because that's how the os is designed?

anyways, you could set up a junction going from d:\my documents\my music to d:\music. google up on how to do this, if you really want.
