I think this is the right place to put this. Does anyone know if I can put XP on the Asus G1S-A1. I looked on their site but I could not find any XP drivers. I really don't want to wait forever for Vista to load and I really do prefer XP.

Or will I just have to settle for Vista?

    Thanks in advance

None of those driver links worked anymore. I guess I'm just stuck with vista then.

Nevermind, using that page (I did do a search but didn't find it, thanks for sharing) I was able to find the drivers from other forums and threads. Thanks!

If that's your main issue with Vista then it's really not an issue at all :).
The new sleep function powers down Vista in a few seconds, and back up again in another two or three seconds (sleep is an evolution of the previous hibernation feature, which still exist and is used, as defined in power plans, if sleep mode is used for extended periods of time when the laptop is running on battery - it powers itself back up and goes into hibernation instead).

According to Microsoft themselves, sleep should be used to power down the computer in most cases. Full shutdown (or reboot) is really only required if you've installed hardware/software/drivers/updates that need it.
Or I guess every few days if you feel Vista is starting to get bogged down a bit too much :) (I can't really comment on how quickly that might become an issue, only had my G1S for two weeks and I've done a lot of software and hardware related stuff that required reboots, so the longest it's been running without a full shut down/reboot is around three days).

Can you use the video driver in the pack? The FAQ on the Asus site says to download a specific one and replace the .inf. However the video driver in the pack doesn't have the .inf to replace.

And will I be able to update the graphics drivers? Or do I have to tweak them every time I update?
