For a short period of time I had an Asus g74 and I loved Smart Logon. You could add pictures for different environments, it was quick, always recognized me, I loved it. Now I have an Alienware m17x r3 and I tried out Fast Access but I just wasn't that impressed. There's no way to manually add pictures, it didn't recognize me very quickly, if at all, and it was slow to startup after booting up.
Is there any way for me to get Smart Logon on my m17x r3? I searched for it and I found a download, but it was for Vista or XP and I have Win7 HP.
Also, if there's a better facial recognition software, please let me know.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If it works in vista it should work in seven. Have you tried installing it? If it doesn't work that way, try compatibility mode.

Yeah but the g74 ran win 7 so I'm guessing they have a win7 version
EDIT: it installed fine, but it says it can only be run from an Asus computer...

It sounds like that it won't work purely as it says, it's not an Asus machine. I reckon there is nothing you can do about that other than buy an Asus.

If you can upload the installer or even link me to it i can remove the check for an asus machine and reupload for you.

Should be an easy edit of the msi.

EDIT: oh i see it installed but the executable checks to see if it's asus?

Only thing you can do is run process explorer to see what its checking when it does check for an asus machine. It's probably wmi under win32_computersystem manufacturer.

So you could edit the WMI class, but i'd check with process explorer first.
