Hello
why if a computer with all the necessary audio drivers and codecs, doesn't play audio.
In the device manager there is the Audio Controller which is showing a problem. Removed it, but still with problem.
I have no installation disks.
Updates audio drivers but no changes.
Audio is set in the BIOS. The card is on board.
Any help?

Are you using the correct drivers? I would use both the drivers that are on the manufacturers website, and also the ones on the website of the audio controllers website.

whats the differernce between the drivers and audio controllers?
Audio controllers doesn t seem to be in every system. At least in my laptop its not.
This problem is on a work station pc
Thanks for the help. -
The audio controller is the hardware contoller for the audio devices. It requires a driver for it to run, and any notebook with sound should have one. If the sound isn't working, and there is a question mark or explanation mark next the the controller, then that is most likely where the problem lies.

can you please identify a "general' driver for my workstation.
The sound card is on board and I'm afraid I don't know the brand....
I downloaded the Realtek Audio Controller but with no success..
Thanks for the help!! -
Realtek only have two drivers currently. I have linked the page where you can find these two drivers. Try both, and perhaps one of them will work.
