I have a new windows 8 laptop (with a SSD). Sometimes while watching videos (most recently a movie on my HDD), I hear my audio stuttering. The sound it makes is like the audio freezing/stuttering (think the result when listening to a song and then getting BSOD). The video is not affected at all. If I pause the video and resume after a few minutes, the problem goes away. Does anyone know how to resolve this (I read that it may be due to SSD, which is what I have)? I'm going to try to find newer audio drivers, but if anyone has any suggestions, that would be highly appreciated.
Is this problem even called audio stuttering?
Thanks

You got the first part right, try to find newer audio drivers and if you can't find a newer version, uninstall your drivers and reinstall them.

It should not be due to the SSD - especially if you're watching the movies off your HDD. Update or reload your audio driver and see if that cures the hiccups.

Could not find new drivers, so I reinstalled the old drivers. I encountered this stuttering again last night, so I don't think reinstalling the drivers did anything.

telling us what computer you have and what spec its got and someone might be able to find the right driver for you.

Might be your DPC latency. You can download a tool to check and fix it via that link.
