    Hello guys,

    Does anyone of you have a laptop with Sigmatel soundcard. My dell has one. It is sigmatel stac 92xx c-major. Are sigmatel stac 92xx c-major for windows 7 drivers available?

    I have installed the vista one but I have a problem with Skype with the sound.

    What has been your experience ? The soundcard drivers is the only issue stepping me off having win7 as my main OS.

    Feedback shared among us would be greatly appreciated.

    From your post it looks like you have not installed Win7 yet and thus how can you know there are no drivers for the sound card?

    the sound card is supported out-of-box on Win 7. No need for 3rd party drivers. Though the powersave functionality of the soundcard will not work. not a biggie though.

    i have installed, win 7 32, win 7 x64, win vista 32, win vista x64.I removed them all after trying and now I am running winxp x64.

    In win 7, the drivers of vista do work. But if you communicate with skype, you will have issues like poor quality and background noises. It is not fault of skype.

    These problems do not exist in Win Xp and Vista. On dell website there is no driver for Sigmatel (sigmatel stac 92xx c-major) for win 7. I thought that other users with the same sound card and different laptop brands could be having better success with these particular audio drivers.

    Apparently checking your signature, you have IDT STAC9271 sound card, which is of the same family.

    Why don't you be helpful for everyone and share your feedback about this driver in Win7? ;)

    No problems with drivers I have

    Search for IDT not Sigmatel drivers.
