What software that is free converts WMA lossless to mp3 and uses muiti cores while being free?
I am using Goldwave right now but it is a bit slow.
And it has to do batch processing (5,000+ files)

How do you do it in windows media player?

For windows media player, load all those files into the library, insert a external storage device, set Sync properties so when you sync it converts the file to a different format, then sync.
For Windows Media Encoder, you need to use command prompt scripts or build your own batch encoder based on the source codes which MS sort of give you. MS gives you a toolkit for it which you can download. -
MediaCoder has always worked well for me.
