Does it still complete a defrag in 30 seconds as Calvin claims?

    Cool thanks for informing...

Defrag complete in 30 seconds!? Maybe will if you do it daily, even so if you install something or put in something huge will takes time to defrag them.

Thank you! This whole notion of ANY defrag app being able to defrag a drive in 30 seconds is just ridiculous. As you said, if you are defragging each day and the defrag only needs to fix a couple of files it might take 30 seconds. But there are folks who seem to think it is magic. The speed of ANY defrag app is more limited by the speed of the hard drive and MUCH less by the app or algorithm the app uses.

I am not saying I don't believe it is fast. I am saying your testing regimen is flawed. Running any defrag a second time is going to be like lightening because there is nothing to do. As I posted in the other thread, there is a way to test these using the same image for each test. Or there is also a better measure than just elapsed time. The better measure is the number of bytes defragmented in an elapsed time. That lets you get a portable measurement across different machines or even the same machine at various times or with various apps. The elapsed time measurement really is meaningless without ALSO knowing how much work was done in that elapsed time.

Auslogic may indeed have the fastest defrag out there, I just haven't seen any measurable proof of that yet. Has anyone seen any magazine articles or web sites that have done any experiments to compare the relative speeds of the defrag apps?

Well i haven't seen any experiments, or tests on the web to prove what i say but as i said in the other post you'll have to research this on your own.
