As of lately when ever I close the lid on my computer and then open it again there seems to be a lag where all of my icons and the windows tool bar have to reposition them selves before I do anything. The best way I can explain it is as if every time I close the lid of my computer the resolution drops to like 800x600 then when I open it back up and move the mouse it has to go back to 1400x1050. Now I can't tell for sure if that is happening because my screen goes black when it's close to being fully closed (I suppose all laptops do that) but I don't know what else could be happening.

It only takes a second or two to reposition everything but it gets really annoying. Does anyone know what this could be attributed to? I recently updated my drivers (I use the Lenovo ones via system update) so that could be the cause.

I know I could try to install ATI drivers from AMD but, I have ventured down that road a few times before and never seem to get it right (things like the problem above happen) and I end up going back to the Lenovo drivers.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Sounds kind of like what my desktop's Princeton Graphics lcd monitor does....which is definitely a monitor issue, not the computer or OS since my 2nd monitor works perfectly, and that 2nd monitor used to be the primary monitor.

When you have your icons set like you like right click the desktop and click on Refresh. Does that help the problem?

I have tried right click and refreshing but that didn't do anything

I have it set to do nothing, I have not noticed this problem coming out of hibernate (I rarely put my computer to sleep so not sure if it happens there) As far as shut down and boot up i'll have to check, it's been a few days
