Dell has a very hand feature called Dell System Restore that let's you reload a factory image to bring your system back to a "like new" state. Is it possible to do this on my own?
I would like to create a back-up partition and store a system image after I do a fresh install, with all the drivers and software updated. Supposedly Vista has a "real" back-up and recovery tool built-in, but if it runs twice as well as XP's Sytem Restore it will still be worthless.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Use Acronis True Image 11 Home, which will allow you to create a hidden backup partition on your drive from which you can do a "like new" restoration (i.e., if you create the hidden partition right after a fresh reinstallation, restoring from the hiden partition will put you right back to that fresh reinstallation).
