Hey guys, I have a question that I haven't been able to figure out the answer to.

I've been a long-time Dropbox user, and to my understanding SkyDrive doesn't work on Linux systems, so I need to keep using Dropbox. However, I'd like to use SkyDrive in order to have a backup of that data, but more importantly so I can see my school-related files on my WP7.5 smartphone, also using SkyDrive (and the Windows Phone Office app). Searched Google for a bit, though the only half-baked solution I can find is using symbolic links to get the Dropbox data synced to the SkyDrive folder. However, this doesn't work all too well from what I've read, so I'm a bit lost here.

Ideally, I want to first get the two accounts linked together so that the same data is on both Dropbox and SkyDrive, and if I change something on Dropbox, the change is reflected on the SkyDrive folder and vice versa.

    Any suggestions?

i don't use dropbox so i'm not even sure how it works locally, but can't you just set the same directory to sync? this must've been the first thing you thought of/tried, no? i guess i'm also curious in case i ever start using dropbox...

I've thought of putting mu Dropbox folder within the SkyDrive folder. Haven't done it yet since I really should go to bed right now, though I started this thread to see if there was a more "elegant" way of doing it. Nevertheless, I'll try that in the morning.

Not sure of any automated or unattended methods. A moderator of DB forums had stated that there was no such integration capabilities from other sites, but that was two years ago and he alluded to the possibility of it in the future. No word on that though. :-/

Closest thing I came across is this.

Edit: Link was invalid :)confused :). Updated.

Using symlink works fine, I have my documents and some other folders sync'd that way. I have my real folders outside of either dropbox or skydrive .
I use a gui just to avoid the cmd hassle.

Just experiment a few time and you should get a hang of it.

symlinks also work if you want to get constant writing file off to ramdisk without changing the path. I have wallpaper slideshow with 10sec interval ~~

Well, now I'm curious as to how I can get SkyDrive working on Ubuntu (without using SME). Not a major concern, but it'd be nice to know how to do that (to Google!).
