I've been using Word 2003 for the past few years and there was this nice little auto type thing that happens with the date.
I would type, for example, "Dece" and then I have the option of pressing enter to type the whole date out "December 30, 2007"

Now in Word 2007, After typing "Dece" I get the option of auto typing "December", I then have to press space, type out "30", then it gives me the option of typing out the rest of the date.

Is there any way to change the settings in Word 2007 so that it would change the date like in Word 2003?

Thanks, new years eve eve :p

For some reason they changed this feature into accepting the date first and then the month. Try typing '30 de' and autotype will then enter the date, month and year. Like this..

BTW, this only works for the current date/month/year. For everything else you will have to type it in full.

Alternatively you can use the keyboard shortcut -> Alt + N + D which will give you list of date formats. You can set the default to any format you want and hit enter.
