Sometimes when I am typing a long response to a question here on NBR I accidentally hit the back button on my browser and erase all the text, even if I press forward it's gone. Does anyone know of any extension for FireFox that will automatically save all the test that I type temporarily?
I know I can copy and paste periodically but I'd like something that would do it automatically.

I think there would be issues with passwords and such. Some members just use word to type responces than copy paste.

If you first draft your response in a Word page in MS Office, you can automatically save as often as you wish. MS Office has a number of save options, and you can set AutoRecover to save as frequently as you want. To do this, open an MS Word page and click the Windows logo in the upper left hand corner of the screen. Click: Word Options, and then, in the left hand column, click on Save. You will find all of the Save options there, including Save AutoRecover information every __ minutes. Click this, and fill in how often you want the text saved.

Sorry for the double post. I knew how to AutoRecover, but I guess I didn't do so well with the "Edit Post" command.

You can try the AutoCopy extension. It's basically the copy/paste method again but you need only to select the text and it's automatically copied to the clipboard. It just saves you the use of ctrl+c(or rightclick->copy).

Good read here on the OP subject, especially in part why FF3 is dropping this feature for the moment, until security concerns can be addressed.
