    Hi guys

I've emailed Avermedia about this issue via their website but just in case I don't get a reply I am wondering if anyone here can help.

I've recently purchased an Avermedia A577 Hybrid Expresscard TV Tuner for my new Asus M70VM. I've tried the pre-packaged drivers and the latest ones from the Avermedia site but the problem still remains.

The problem is this - the card works fine in Vista for receiving TV, both analog and digital free to air modes work fine and receive all the channels possible.

In XP however I can only get analog! I'm using the same co-axial aerial cable from the roof, the digital set-top box I have receives channels fine as does the card in Vista, but the card in XP refuses to tune into anything but the analog signal!?

I've tried all the frequency scans available at different times of the day...

I have googled for a solution but all I come across is websites selling the cards not any forums/wikis or anything helpful so I am wondering if anyone here has had a similar problem and solved it?

Thanks in advance as usual for any help/advice. :)

Er no. I'm not sure it's a program fault as the same program works in Vista and is apparently supposed to work in XP as well...

Any suggestions on programs I can use instead of the Avermedias AverTV to rule out the program being at fault?

Well I had an email back from Avermedia, their advice is to update the ap and driver and update Windows XP via windows update and then install the new ap and driver along with updating my video and sound drivers...

So I did just that, although I already had the latest video and sound drivers...

Still nothing, it scans and finds nothing and the audio on the analog channels comes out as static. The sodding things works fine in Vista on the same notebook but I don't want to use Vista because of performance problems I have with some of my games, I'm much better off with running XP to game in.

I guess I'll either have to keep switching to Vista everytime I want to watch the tele on my laptop or send the card back... :(

I have exactly the same problem. I have found the way arout it, but it's quite inconviniet solution. I have installed ArcSoft TotalMedia 3.5 and digital does work in this program, but I don't like that program. So you have turn on TotalMedia and tune all programs, than pick one and put in on screen and exit the program. Now you turn on AverTV6 will tune programs that are transmitted on the same frequency as the program you had turnd on last in TotalMedia.
But I'm still looking for better solution
