So I just noticed all this time avira hasn't been on.

I went to reinstall it, so i uninstall it, then try to reinstall it, but I get a message to modify or uninstall, not to install. So I choose the remove option, hoping i could just run it again.

I went to check my Program Files > Avira > Avira Desktop. At this point it said I had no permission and I don't know how i'm supposed to. I tried to let it permit the CREATOR but it didn't allow me.

I restarted my computer and tried to reinstall, but on each component it tried to copy over to hdd, I kept getting error:5. I had to space bar my whole way through the installation.

    dunno what to do now

avira has uninstall tools for corrupt uninstalls/uninstalls.

    http://www.avira.com/en/support/support_downloads.html

afterwards if you decide to reinstall the program follow these steps.

    1. disable system restore
    2. run tool
    3. restart in safe mode
    4. run tool again
    5. restart
    6. run regedit and search for orphan keys (keyword = avira)
    7. restart again.
    8. download ccleaner / install / run registry cleaner /
---when asked to backup registry (Yes)
    ----perform cleaning.
    9. enable sysem restore and delete previous restore points
    10. reinstall program if you desire.

sounds like alot of work but when installs/uninstalls get corrupt you need to
    perform ALL THIS STEPS!!

    goodluck
