Did what I thought was a clean install on my Acer 8930G with Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and then installed Cyberlink PowerDVD 9 Ultra inc updates and was able tp play back BD's from my F drive (Blu ray/dvd rewriter). I then found a couple of old partitions left over from Vista which I hadn't deleted so got rid and did another clean install with 7 Ultimate 64 bit. On reinstalling PowerDVD 9 again I can no longer play back BD's. I get a message saying that there is a disc in Drive F with an unsupported format.
I can play back normal cd/dd's from drive F and can find no drivers on the Acer website. Have uninstalled and reinstalled the BD rom but with no success.

Any help would be appreciated!!

Ok, checked Cyberlink support and downloaded the BD advisor which gave a green light for everything supporting BD playback. The error message appears to relate to trying to playback HD dvd in a BD drive which is clearly not what I'm attempting to do.....still getting same error message after uninstalling graphics card driver and changing for an earlier version.

Are you using the original Acer nvidia video driver or did you download the latest nvidia one.

Also does the acer arcade deluxe play blu-ray ok, or is it just a cyberlink problem.

I've used the new Nvidia 64bit drivers on Acer's support site. It did play in Acer Arcade but wasn't great.

Thanks, thats interesting! I have installed the latest SATA driver from Acer and have also just installed the chipset driver for Vista 64bit from the same place. Still getting the same message and I've uninstalled and reinstalled with latest patch and update.PowerDVD is using my Drive F as it's main drive and wil happily playback dvd's......which still leaves BD unplayable!! this is driving me crazy!!

I still don't see why you need to reinstall the second time but whatever.

Odd though that it would give you hiccups now...

I still had remnants of Vista which i thought I might as well get rid of. Don't plan to reinstall '7' again but now thinking of giving it one more go. Seem to have tried everything else! BD playback was a fairly big factor in my decision to buy this over another laptop a couple of months back

I find it strange that a stand alone BD player connected via HDMI would be easy to configure and yet this seems so difficult! I thought newer drivers would solve problems rather than create new ones.
I am using Cyberlink PowerDVD 9 Ultra as a software player and I get the same error message as I did with Acer Arcade......graphics driver doesn't support playback. The TV is same resolution as the laptop display.
