OK this is a stupid question, but I don't have $1000 to spend on a new HDTV right now. I had to upgrade my receiver just now, got it in the mail today. I have the HP lappy in my sig with BD drive and HDMI connection. I connect to the receiver via HDMI and then a composite cable from my receiver to my old tv.

But when I try to play a movie, BD or DVD, it tells me that I can't output to an analog signal, copy protected blah blah blah. This copy protection stuff really makes me angry. I just want to watch my movies. I'm not trying to steal anything.

So the question is, is it possible to do this? If so how? I'd appreciate the help. And my home DVD player doesn't play BD. Running Win7.

I only know the product by name, I haven't ever used so can't help with that.
