Hello,
I bought new laptop ASUS K52JR-SX028V, Core I5 2.26, 4GB, 500GB, DVD DL, ATI HD5470, 15.6", W7 HP.
When i turn it on it writes:
BOOTMGR is missing.
Press CTRL+alt+del to restart
In instruction it is written to press F9 to reset partition (i hope i translated this corectly), but it doesnt work.
All it works is ESC and then writes:
Please select boot device:
P0: ST9500325AS
P1: MATADVD-RAM UJ890AS
Enter setup
But nothing works.
They didn't gave me Windows CD.
Any advice what to do?![]()

They might sold you a notebook without os.
You need a win7 install dvd ... or go download linux try ubuntu.
Download ubuntu live cd .. boot it from cd or from usb stick and take a look what is on the hdd. -
I burn system recovery cd for windows 7 and when i had to choose the OS there wasn't any.
I guess there is no OS on my laptop? -
As it look there isn't ... but look the administration tools> computer management> disk management as the recovery partition doesn't get a drive letter so it won't show up in my computer.

iianm urs with 500gb rite? the reason it shows 465gb maybe thr is a recovery partition but it didnt show..
for my u35jc, i press f9 n it will go to recovery partition... -
From the looks of things I would say you tried to partition your drive, things went terribly wrong, and all your data is gone (including your OS). Tell us truthfully, what happened?
If it is truely a brand new computer out of the box, take it back or send it back and make them send you one that is complete and works. There should be no need to jump through hoops like you are with a new out of the box computer. -
They mislead me, laptop does not have W7 included. =) They wrote they are selling K52JR-SX028V (that has W7) but they were selling K52JR-SX028 (without OS). That's why it was cheaper! =)
Thanks everyone for help anyway. -

From the picture it looks like it was partitioned for Windows 7 though. As the 100MB partition is the one that contains Windows 7 system files. Kinda like an OS sandbox for important files.

BOOTMGR is missing
