I'd start by testing your RAM. memtest86
Added: found this, not sure if it applies to you.
http://forums.techarena.in/windows-xp-support/782058.htm -
Memtest is a good idea.
And is it possible for you to upload that minidump file.
It might be in the Windows/Minidump folder. -
Yeah, that's probably bad RAM.
-
yes i can but how do i do that?
-
A BSOD is caused either by flakey drivers or faulty hardware. In your case, it is likely your RAM. To use memtest, your going to need a bootable flash drive with DOS or a floppy disk. Check out this site for a how to, I like Method 2 the best as it is the easiest to do.
-
I mean how do i upload the minidump file?
-
I will try Method 2. so just do i have to change anything in my bios? becuase i have already download it to a flash drive but nothing happens when I restart my computer.. it just boots up. do i need to install or extract the program on my drive key? -
On the "Quick Reply" form, click on the "Go Advanced" button, then click on the paperclip icon at the top of the new form you get, and attach the minidump file to your reply post.

Hi Jason,
your problem is Interesting,
even after reinstalling the BSOD strikes back..
and here i am ..who fixed BSOD in 30 mins without losing one byte of Data.
So, it means Driver issue is ruled out, its a hardware issue or BIOS which hasnt been reset.
Can u just try to do this and tell me:
1. Start your comp and access the BIOS.
2. go to its settings & just Load the Default Settings of BIOS.
3. Try restarting.
if it doesnt then let me know.
there are 3 more things u can do.
btw Shyster..how are u going to comprehend the minidump? wouldnt it be in non-readable format?
i think sysdata.xml will be more useful. -
SEP. I only answered what was asked; whether what gets uploaded is useful/readable is for another day.
-
for some reason when i try to upload the minidump file it saids that its a invalid file. ?????
-
Compress it or zip it (in .zip format) and upload.
-
zip wont work either. not sure if i can compress it. i only see compress and email.
-
Upload it here, and post the link here.
-
I went ahead and loaded the default setting on my bios already. Ill keep you guys posted if the BSOD comes back. -
here is my minidump file.
thanks

Do you have the Folder Lock utility ?
-
Yes I do!! Come to think of it.... I was just finishing up installing it when the BSOD happen!! Do you think it has something to do with the BSOD??? I've had it install on my laptop before with no issue.
-
I ran memtest 2.01 twice for about 6-8 hours each time. First time it did 3 pass with no errors and this morning I stop it at 4 pass with no errors. I ran it with both slot of memory still install. didnt have time to test one at a time.

You can either rename "windrvNT.sys" to "windrvNT.sys.OLD", and move it to another drive or folder, and restart and see if Folder Lock runs fine or not. If it runs fine, wait for any BSODs to occur.
If BSODs still continue to occur, uninstall Folder Lock.
(Or you can uninstall it now, if you don't need it and make sure that .sys file has been removed from Windows/System32/drivers or whichever folder it is located in)Attached Files:

Andy thanks. Ill try to do it when i get home from work. my laptop still at home running the memtest agian. Is this a known issue with Folder lock? or was there something in the minidump file that lead you to belive its Folder lock?
thanks -
Check out the BugCheck Analysis in the debuglog.
Basically that driver file is the culprit....
You can also try a previous (stable) version of Folder Lock. -
Wow thanks Andy!!! ill go ahead and remove that program and see if there anyother issue.
thanks everyone for thier input. hopfully this issue will go away.
BSOD!!! again even after reformating my laptop
