What can cause the BSOD to come up during install of XP. I am trying to do this on a TX2500z using a Legit XP Home copy. I get the blue screen and it load the drivers and then it just crashes to the blue screen, I tried it with a regular XP copy and with SATA drivers sliped in.
-
What is the STOP code shown in the BSOD ? (Image ?)
-
I just thought that proving that would be a good idea, let me quickly run it again and write it down
-
you sure you slipped in the right SATA drivers?
-
I used this driver,
http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/Motherboard/Driver_DownloadFile.aspx?FileType=Driver&FileID=3676
I found it on a guide on how to install XP on TX2500z, can't find the link at the moment -
Ok the set up says
"Setup is starting Windows"
then the dreaded BSOD
A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
blah blah blach

INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE: You haven't installed the correct SATA drivers, or not slipstreamed them properly.
-
Did you slipstream the driver in PnP or text mode? I believe PnP is the correct one. As depicted here:

Did you like, slipstream the whole driver folder, or some particular drivers....??
-
I selected slipstreamed Single Driver only, downloaded the driver, extracted it, selected it in nLite, then burned the ISO and popped it in
-
You slipstreamed ahcix86.inf ??
-
Yep, thats the one I selected
-
What if you select the whole folder, and let nlite slipstream everything....
-
Should I let it slipstream the X86 and X64 for the hell of it also? Or will the X64 being there mess it up?
-
It won't be used....Won't mess up anything. I used to just assign the folders, and let all the drivers be slipstreamed. Worth a try !!
-
Ok im about to do it but i noticed that when i downloaded the driver and extracted it, it was in this folder WHQL_SB7xx_RAID_XP_3.1.1540.50
why is there RAID in it? I don't have raid -
My only last thought is are you sure that is the appropriate driver for your chipset? -
This is where I found the driver
http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/showpost.php?p=116037&postcount=5
I couldnt find any mention of it anywhere else -
Ok I just tried a CD with all the drivers slipped and everything, I def. think I don't have the correct driver on hand, can anyone help me locate the correct one?
