Hi all, I encountered a BSOD earlier today on my HP pavillion dv9650us which is running Vista Home Premium. Now when I start up my notebook it attempts a startup repair and then displays this:

Startup repair cannot repair this computer automatically.

    Problem signature:

    Problem Event Name Startup RepairV2

    Problem Signature 01: Autofailover

    Problem Signature 02: 6.0.6000.16386.6.0.6001.1800

    Problem Signature 03: 3

    Problem Signature 04: 131074

    Problem Signature 05: CorruptFile

    Problem Signature 06: CorruptFile

    Problem Signature 07: 3221225624

    Problem Signature 08: 3

    Problem Signature 09: WrpRepair

    Problem Signature 10: 2

    OS Version: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.256.1

    Locale ID: 1033

The options I am given after this are the following
    1. Startup Repair: See above results
    2. System Restore: Says no restore points created for some reason
    3. Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool: No problems detected
    4. Open Command Prompt Window
    5. Recovery Manager

I would rather not loose all my data (college projects etc) so if anyone can suggest a solution to this probelm, or at least a way to retrieve my data before the dreaded system restore it would be massively appreciated.
I also do not have any Vista Disc
If any more info on problem is required please ask.
    Please help.

I know a way to retrieve your data if you cant boot into windows. You need to have a bootable cd/dvd that will allow you to bypass the OS and access your files. you could try http://www.killdisk.com/ and make a bootable cd/dvd

Yes but if you make a bootable cd/dvd it will also alllow you to access your files when you boot from cd/dvd at startup :) i know becuase ive had my share of BSOD and this has allowed me to at least get my files
