    I don't have anything against the size of the trademark, but that black splotch with the "Vista Ultimate so and so" is downright ugly. I think it ruins what's otherwise a completely decent and usable desktop.

    You have to get more creative. You can't be just recoloring the Vista "stripes" background. That only takes a click of the mouse to do. Keep working in photoshop, doing random tutorials that you think are cool, and you'll build up your skills gradually.

    A few tips,
    1. Keep the colors subtle. When you use a strong color like red or blue, only use a light hue or saturation. Otherwise, they hurt the eyes.
    2. Never mix opposite colors. Red on blue text doesn't work, and looks amateurish. Stick with complementary colors - warm, cold, etc.

    I like how you did your username with that barcode thing, but like everyone else I think you could've made the "weird" black splotch thing better. That looks like what happens when you step on a ****roach.
