Gotta reformat my two laptops tomorrow: The XPS and the FE.

Each notebook has over 250 bookmarks. I need these.

Any pointers on software that might back this crap up?

[Or is it located in the profile section of the install -- and I simply copy that?]

    It's easy in FF2 :)

Go to Bookmarks, Or ganize Bookmarks, (the Bookmarks Manager pops up) File, Export.

Name it whatever you wish, maybe "backup_bookmarks.html", and when you reformat and reinstall FF2 you can Import it in the same manner.

I've used this tutorial before and it works great. The benefit of it is it copies EVERYTHING form your old FF to the new one (settings, add-ons (both extensions and themes), bookmarks).

If you have trouble deciphering the howto let me know, I'd be happy to help. It's a pretty painless process.

A tutorial isn't really necessary; You basically just have to copy over your profile folder, usually located in
    C:/Documents and Settings/[username]/Application Data/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/[something.default]
it contains all your bookmarks, extensions, settings, themes, etc; only the plugins aren't in it.

Also in his link, it was accidently vhttp

    Here's the real one.
