    Hi guys,

was sending my laptop for repair tomm..

i need to backup important user data....but in uncompressed format so it can be retrieved easily.

    What program should i use?

the Acronis was a big disappointment last time..it corrupted the files & never completed the backup.

How about some 3rd party softwares?

I use Backmaster 4.01. It's way easier than the the big names and offers file-by-file restore. Creates own bootable rescue disk that can backup and restore all of Bill Gates' secret locked system files that we all love when backing things up. In fact, I don't use system restore anymore when getting out of a jam. I reformat the C: drive and re-install the last backup, then re-write the old VolumeID and boot right up from where I left off. Passwords and Windows activation are preserved. It's only $20 on the web. MSR Developement is the vendor.
